Can I play sports or work out at a gym after my hair transplant?
It is not recommended play any sports or participate in any strenous physical activity for a month after the hair transplant procedure. After two weeks one can work out at a gym as long as the work out is not very strenuous because elevated blood pressure on the scalp after a hair transplant operation puts undue stress on the newly grafted hair follicles.
It is also very important to make sure that one does not participate in any physical activity, strenuous or otherwise, that involves one’s hand or hands touching one’s head or any equipment or sporting related equipment touching one’s head.
For example if you are a professional athlete or your career depends on your being physically active you can practice the sport you like to play or engage in either by yourself or with teammates after two weeks but you must be extremely careful and you must make sure that no foreign objects or sporting equipment comes into contact with your head.
It is also vitally important to remember that elevated blood pressue can cause damage to your hair graft.
Clients should not engage in Yoga, Boxing or other similar activities as these types of activities might negatively affect the hair transplant.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for further details if you are unsure about any of the above.
